An Economist by training, the Author has held various positions in research administration, at the Délégation Générale pour la Recherche Scientifique et Technique (DGRST), then in various organisations (École des Hautes Études en Sciences Sociales, Institut National de la Santé et de la Recherche Médicale, etc.); he is Vice-President of INRA (Institut National de la Recherche Agronomique) for International Affairs.
