In 190 pages, 16 authors deal with the Indo-Pacific in its various political, economic and security aspects. The book describes the policies pursued with regard to this concept by the main countries bordering the Indian and Pacific Oceans, and by the world’s major powers. All chapters are accompanied by maps to make them easier to understand.
In 2007, a former Indian naval officer mentioned the convergence of Indian and Japanese interests in the field of maritime security. But it was a little later that same year that the Indo-Pacific concept was born, with a speech by the Japanese Prime Minister. The concept has become widespread, but with many variations. Only Russia and China reject it.
